In 2018 Big Citizen HUB will connect nearly 250 diverse young people, ages 11-26, from all across Los Angeles for 22 Saturdays to learn about our communities and address local issues they care about.
To date Big Citizens have collectively served over 50,000 hours within Los Angeles, completing over 150 projects ranging from feeding warm meals to the homeless, to planting and maintaining community gardens, to creating anti-bullying workshops for peers. Not only are Big Citizens having a huge impact on communities, they too are going through a transformation. We have learned that Big Citizens develop an appreciation for teamwork and diversity, allowing them to more openly explore various social issues and perspectives. Youth see themselves differently after their experience at Big Citizen HUB; they believe they are capable of positively impacting their communities in ways they didn't conceive of before, and they feel empowered to drive social change and inspire others around them.
A donation today will help us increase youth empowerment, create a network of Big Citizens, and a more just society.
